[Recap] The Stop's Night Market 2017

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

The Stop’s Night Market has come and gone for 2017, leaving behind memories of one of the best culinary fundraisers in the city. This year’s event hosted incredible food and drink along with live music, design and good vibes.

Restaurants, catering companies and beverage purveyors such as Kanpai Snack Bar, The Tempered Room, Hawthrone, Carmen, Halo Brewery, Boodles Gin and many more were all serving up tasty bites and drinks all evening long. Guests let loose and formed a small dance party in the Sterling Lot driven by beats from the Samba Squad, DJ Mensa and more. The event had all of the necessary features of a successful event and I can't wait to see what's in store for 2018.

As always, the food is plentiful at The Night Market and here are just a
few of the dishes I tried:

(L to R)
Vanilla Meringue - Mad Maple, Pork Bun - Momofuku, Mini Pogo - Heirloom, Dumplings - NANA, General Tso'fu - 416 Snack Bar/People's Eatery, Ice Cream Sandwich - The Drake Commissary, Scallop Ceviche - Broadview Hotel, Cookies - Lindsey Bakes, Chicken Skewers - Abokichi, Miami Ribs - The Tempered Room, Pork Noodles - Kanpai Snack Bar, Rum Cocktail - El Dorado, Empanada - Branca, Chicken Sandwich - AGO, Craft Beer - Halo Brewery, Broccolini Fritti - Ascari Enoteca

The Stop's Community Food Centre raised over $300,000 this year which is a record amount for this event. Ticket prices are very reasonable considering the food and drink is unlimited, plus you’re helping to support a worthwhile cause so it really is a win-win situation.
