Encore Catering - Food with Elegance

I recently had the chance to attend an event titled ‘Blogger Bites Tasting Event’ hosted by Encore Catering.  This was my first event at a catering company so I was very excited to see what they had to offer.

Encore catering was established in 1979 and provide off-premise catering to just about any function you can think of.  Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate function or holiday party, Encore catering will work with you to provide memorable experiences along with beautifully designed dishes that will make you wait approximately 30 seconds before indulging in due to camera snaps of the masterpiece.


The event was held at the Encore Catering venue located at 5000 Dufferin St.  We were greeted by the very friendly staff at Encore along with President Cary Silber and Director of Operations Ryan Silber who gave us a brief history and overview of the company.  We were brought into the epic 10,000 sq. foot production kitchen where all of the magic takes places.  Kitchen staff and Exec Chef Roshan Wanasingha were hard at working assembling the lovely food we would be eating that night.  After examining the luxurious space, we took a seat and read over the tasting menu for the evening.  I noticed that some of the dishes contained egg and so I asked our server if it was possible to have the egg removed from the dishes for me. She assured me that she would do her best to make this possible and luckily enough my eggless wishes came through.  I commend their efforts in remembering that I was the anti-egg lady and didn't have to constantly remind them throughout the night about my weird dislike for eggs (yes I get it, I'm the only person in the world who doesn't eat eggs).

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the food I tried and can't really complain about anything. The different varieties of food I consumed were all cooked to perfection which really impressed me.  Usually when I attend events where mass amounts of food is being produced, someone might get an overcooked shrimp or a chewy piece of meat but each item consumed was meticulously created.  I especially enjoyed the stunning presentation of each item and some were almost too pretty to eat.  The Serrano Ham and Pastrami Salmon Maki Tempura were some of the stand-out foods for me and the only dish I didn't really care for was the gazpacho but that's probably because I am not a huge cold soup gal in general.

Choosing a reliable, flexible and quality catering company is always a difficult decision for me and I tend to choose a company that friends or family members have used in the past.  So as your fellow foodie friend, I highly recommended you contacting Encore for any catering inquires you may have.
